REGISTRATION WITH THE TAX AUTHORITIES (TIN)

Overview

Natural persons working in Cyprus as employees or as self-employed have an obligation to register with tax authorities (TIN) in order to enable them to submit their personal tax return.  For the registration with tax authorities, there is no specific law. However, it was announced that natural persons should be registered if his/her annual gross income is above the amount of €19,500 and soon it will be become into law.

Through the registration, the person will receive his/her tax identification number (TIC) which can be used for the creation of various profiles through the various online government  portals (including tax profile). Our suggestion, is to register with Tax Authorities and get your TIC since it will be useful for other applications you may need in the future.

By registering with the tax authorities in Cyprus, business and individuals can fulfil their ax obligations, maintain legal compliance, and enjoy the benefits and protections offered by the local tax system.
